{"id":256,"date":"2012-03-22T18:57:52","date_gmt":"2012-03-22T18:57:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=256"},"modified":"2012-03-22T18:57:52","modified_gmt":"2012-03-22T18:57:52","slug":"dlr-signalling-upgrade-to-get-final-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=256","title":{"rendered":"DLR signalling upgrade to get final testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The whole Docklands Light Railway will be out of action on Saturday 11<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday 12<sup>th<\/sup> February to allow final testing of the new signalling software which will allow quicker journeys and an even greater level of reliability on the network.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The new signalling system is part of the \u00a3300 million three car upgrade programme that<br \/>\nbegun three years ago and is the final piece in the jigsaw to ensure that not only is the Docklands Light Railway ready for the London Olympic Games but that there is also a lasting legacy for travellers on the network. This system will allow services to recover more quickly from any delays and will improve the overall reliability of the system.<\/p>\n<p>The whole system needs to be closed to allow the signalling tests to take place as they need to replicate as closely as possible normal working conditions simultaneously.
