Anyone travelling on Nottingham Express Transit from Monday 7th January will see some changes to the fare structure with the removal of all return tickets based on \u201ccustomer feedback\u201d and aimed at \u201csimplifying\u201d fares. From this date anyone wanting to make a return trip on the same day will either have to buy two separate singles or alternatively purchase a day ticket (which works out cheaper than two singles but is more expensive than the current return).<\/p>\n
A day ticket costs \u00a34 for adults from either the ticket machines on each platform or on mobile (\u00a33.70 max on the Mango card or \u00a33.60 max on the Robin Hood card, if using one operator) and this price will remain as currently from the fare change date. The price of a return ticket is currently \u00a33.50 with singles available for \u00a32.20.<\/p>\n
In explaining the decision to make these changes, Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET Marketing Manager, said: \u201cThe changes, to be introduced on January 7, will streamline our ticket offer and make it similar to that of other transport operators in the city \u2013 making travelling by tram even easier.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other changes from 7th January will see concessionary all day unlimited travel for pass holders from outside Nottinghamshire available at \u00a32.50 \u2013 the same price as their equivalent return ticket prices currently so they will not lose out in this new structure. There will also be the introduction of student single, day and week tickets costing \u00a31.70, \u00a33.10 and \u00a313.50 respectively.<\/p>\n
There will also be what are described as small increases to adult and under 19 single ticket cash fares to \u00a32.30 and \u00a31.20 \u2013 an increase of 10p in both cases.<\/p>\n
An offer will also return for first time buyers of monthly season tickets \u2013 or those who haven\u2019t used one for three months \u2013 with a ticket available for \u00a340. These tickets must be purchased between 7th January and 9th February and is a saving of \u00a315 on standard monthly ticket prices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
