{"id":24372,"date":"2018-10-27T18:00:31","date_gmt":"2018-10-27T17:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=24372"},"modified":"2018-10-20T20:00:39","modified_gmt":"2018-10-20T19:00:39","slug":"around-the-world-in-trams-san-francisco-1006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=24372","title":{"rendered":"Around the World in Trams: San Francisco 1006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Continuing our world tour today as we head over the Atlantic to the far side on the United States of America and San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Usually when we feature San Francisco on these pages we are looking at one of the two Blackpool Boat Cars which run on the heritage streetcar service but today we are more at home with a standard US streetcar \u2013 a San Francisco PCC. This is car <strong>1006<\/strong> which was delivered to San Francisco in 1948 as one of 10 cars known by Muni as Torpedoes because of their shape (later also called Big Tens).
