For those not aware of just what a Steampunk is, Michael Crane, organiser from Steampunks at the Well in Lincoln, said: “For those not familiar with Steampunk three words succinctly describes us: ‘Victorian time travellers. We’re not the best people at ‘blending in’; it’s difficult to keep a low profile dressed in top hats and goggles, or dressed as a flamboyant pirate, or dressed in faux armour brandishing a customised Nerf gun. In Steampunk almost anything goes – and it’s for this reason that it’s very unlikely you’ll ever see two dressed the same. We are a welcoming genre in which you can be yourself or someone else. So, be you Steampunk or Steam-Curious, I’m certain you’ll be entertained, amazed and will have a fantastic day out with us on 6 October.”

As well as a standard tram service in operation there will be a colouring competition, a cog hunt and comedy magic and ballooning.

Crich Tramway Village will be open between 1000 and 1630 on Saturday 6th October.

Wirral Bus and Tram Show – Birkenhead Heritage Tramway on Sunday 7th October

Returning for the 21st year the Wirral Bus and Tram is back with the usual mix of free heritage bus services, buses on display and of course a tram service along the Heritage Tramway. 2018 will also see a brand new Merseyrail train on display at the Pacific Road showground giving people the first chance to see inside one of these new trains which are set to revolutionise rail travel in the area.

A four tram service is due to operate using up to six trams although details of which trams may be in service when haven’t been revealed.
