Its been Manchester Metrolink\u2019s turn for disruption caused by overhead line problems with a section of overhead coming down at Cornbrook on Sunday 5th August. Fortunately it was only a Sunday and no trams are currently running onto the Eccles line but even so there was pretty major disruption during the day as repairs were undertaken.<\/p>\n

The issue was first reported during the morning with no trams able to run through Cornbrook for several hours. During the disruption trams ran as follows:<\/p>\n
Altrincham to Old Trafford<\/p>\n
Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly<\/p>\n
Bury to Piccadilly (as per the normal Sunday timetable)<\/p>\n
East Didsbury to Firswood<\/p>\n
Manchester Airport to Firswood<\/p>\n
Rochdale Town Centre to Exchange Square<\/p>\n
Passengers for affected sections of the line were advised to travel either on local bus services or Northern Rail services.<\/p>\n
