{"id":2333,"date":"2012-11-19T15:06:20","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T15:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=2333"},"modified":"2012-11-19T15:06:20","modified_gmt":"2012-11-19T15:06:20","slug":"manchester-metrolink-m5000-3060-delivered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=2333","title":{"rendered":"Manchester Metrolink M5000 3060 delivered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 60<sup>th<\/sup> Bombardier M5000 for Manchester Metrolink was delivered to Queen\u2019s Road Depot on the morning of Saturday 17<sup>th<\/sup> November. \u00a0<strong>3060 <\/strong>arrived on the back of a low loader with number vinyls already in place although the livery embellishments have yet to be applied.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As with all previous deliveries of the M5000s, <strong>3060<\/strong> arrived at Queen\u2019s Road Depot where it will receive initial commissioning works before eventually being moved over to Trafford Depot for\u00a0temporary storage. It is likely to remain stored until the complete Metrolink network is converted to TMS operation although there is a chance it could receive redundant ATS and VRS equipment from withdrawn T68s.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 60 M5000s now delivered to Manchester 39 are now available for service with <strong>3001<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>3035<\/strong> and <strong>3037<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>3040<\/strong> fitted with the ATS and VRS equipment for use on the current network with <strong>3036<\/strong> also receiving the equipment at the moment. Other members of the class are used for testing and training purposes on the yet to be opened routes.
