{"id":23168,"date":"2018-07-28T18:00:39","date_gmt":"2018-07-28T17:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=23168"},"modified":"2018-07-27T21:05:01","modified_gmt":"2018-07-27T20:05:01","slug":"picture-in-time-seaton-tramway-19-works-01-02","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=23168","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Seaton Tramway 19, Works 01 &#038; 02"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back to Devon for this instalment of Picture in Time as we take a look at the Seaton Tramway with a true original Devon tram the main feature.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->This photo was taken in 2003 and shows a fairly busy scene at Seaton terminus as <strong>19<\/strong> departs with a full load of passengers and the destination blind showing Depot which suggests this is a gala event including behind the scenes depot tours. <strong>19<\/strong> is one of three trams at Seaton which have been converted from original first generation trams, this one being an Exeter car and dating from 1906 (and being withdrawn from its original life in 1931). Numbered <strong>19<\/strong> \u2013 and then <strong>21<\/strong> in the Exeter fleet \u2013 after withdrawal it was sold on for further use until discovered in 1984 before arriving at Seaton in 1994 where a start was made on converting it to operation.
