The latest performance stats on Manchester Metrolink have shown that in the four weeks between 29th April and 26th May there was a further deterioration in punctuality across the network. Reliability also saw a drop although this was minimal.<\/p>\n
The network wide punctuality was 89.2% with the Ashton-under-Lyne line \u2013 which has significant street running sections \u2013 coming bottom of the table with 84.7% of journeys departing less than two minutes late. The Eccles (87.75%), Airport (87.8%) and Bury (87.9%) lines were also under 90% for this four week period. At the other end of the scale well done to the East Didsbury who came top of the class with 94.2%.<\/p>\n
This period was hit by an overhead line failure between Victoria and Shudehill which saw trams firstly suspended and then diverted via 2CC and there were also a number of incidents which required the emergency services to attend. A new focus on reducing car to tram incidents is said to have decreased the number of cancellations across the network.<\/p>\n
On the reliability front (this is the percentage of planned miles which actually ran) this was down from the previous period of 99.48% to 99.4% (so a very small decrease). The Bury line was the best of the bunch here with 99.7% of all planned miles running with the Eccles line at the other end of the scale with 99% of all planned services running in full.<\/p>\n
0.36% of all planned journeys were cancelled in this period with 0.59% running short journeys.<\/p>\n
KeolisAmey Metrolink\u2019s priorities for the coming periods will include planned maintenance work to the signalling system and preparation for major events taking place across Manchester.<\/p>\n
