{"id":21747,"date":"2018-04-18T19:30:21","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T18:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=21747"},"modified":"2018-04-18T18:13:35","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T17:13:35","slug":"more-batteries-now-included-on-midland-metro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=21747","title":{"rendered":"More batteries now included on Midland Metro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on from the installation of batteries on Urbos3 <strong>18<\/strong> the remainder of the Midland Metro tram fleet is now to be so fitted, although unlike <strong>18<\/strong> it won\u2019t be necessary for them to be returned to Spain with the work instead taking place at Wednesbury Depot. With the apparent end of successful testing for <strong>18<\/strong> \u2013 although that tram still awaits a return to service \u2013 work has now commenced on fitting the batteries to <strong>31<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->On Tuesday 17th April <strong>31<\/strong> was dragged out of the main workshops at the depot rather fittingly by <strong>18<\/strong> with it apparent work is well underway on the installation of its batteries. <strong>31<\/strong> is now back in the workshops where it is joined by <strong>26<\/strong> which is currently being put back together following its repair work and return \u2013 in two parts \u2013 from Wolverton Works last month.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>18<\/strong>, <strong>26<\/strong> and <strong>31<\/strong> all out of action it means that a maximum of 18 trams are currently available to cover the daily diagrams with 15 required at peak times.
