{"id":21691,"date":"2018-04-12T18:13:04","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T17:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=21691"},"modified":"2018-04-12T18:13:04","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T17:13:04","slug":"picture-in-time-glasgow-1245-blackpool-159","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=21691","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Glasgow 1245 &#038; Blackpool 159"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The early years of the East Anglia Transport Museum feature in this instalment of our archive photo series.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->It is September 1973 and at the front of the tram depot we see <strong>Glasgow 1245<\/strong> and <strong>London Transport 1858<\/strong> (with <strong>Lowestoft 14<\/strong> just seen on the far side). By this time the tramway at the museum had started to operate \u2013 1971 was the milestone year when trams first ran with <strong>159<\/strong> already establishing itself as a key member of the operational fleet \u2013 with other development taking place around the site in Carlton Colville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1245<\/strong> has become a bit of a nomad since it left Carlton Colville in the 1990s with a spell of storage at Rigby Road Depot in Blackpool being followed by a move north to Scotland where it is currently being restored back to serviceable condition at Summerlee near Glasgow.
