{"id":20301,"date":"2018-01-11T18:29:41","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T18:29:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=20301"},"modified":"2018-03-22T19:10:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-22T19:10:42","slug":"picture-in-time-blackpool-centenary-646-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=20301","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Blackpool Centenary 646"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this edition of Picture in Time we are back in Blackpool \u2013 or Fleetwood if you want to be completely precise \u2013 with an image of one of the much maligned, but vital, Centenary Cars.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The date is 13th June 1992 and this photo shows <strong>Centenary 646<\/strong> in the standard green and cream livery \u2013 with half side advert for the Sealife Centre \u2013 standing at the old unloading stop, and now home of the Fleetwood Ferry platform, on Bold Street. The destination blind has already been changed, ready for its return trip the full distance of the tramway to Starr Gate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>646<\/strong> is the only of the eight strong class of Centenary Cars to have been scrapped with it meeting its maker having been vandalised whilst stored in the open but in happier times it was delivered to Blackpool on anniversary day, 29th September 1987 before entering service at the start of December of the same year.
