{"id":20109,"date":"2017-12-27T18:00:13","date_gmt":"2017-12-27T18:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=20109"},"modified":"2018-03-22T19:27:44","modified_gmt":"2018-03-22T19:27:44","slug":"british-trams-online-at-15-%e2%80%93-loan-trams-oporto-196","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=20109","title":{"rendered":"British Trams Online at 15 \u2013 Loan Trams: Oporto 196"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Throughout this series we have seen several trams which have made the trip from Heaton Park to Beamish but in this edition we feature a tram which made the opposite move \u2013 <strong>Oporto 196<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The loan of <strong>196<\/strong> to Heaton Park was actually part of a tram exchange with <strong>Leeds 6<\/strong> (see earlier in this series) going to Beamish (for a much longer loan than expected and continuing well after <strong>196<\/strong>\u2019s return). <strong>196<\/strong> arrived in Manchester on 1st April 2010 and was used extensively at Heaton Park throughout the operating season before it returned to the north east at the start of November 2010.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21338\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=21338\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-21338\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21338\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21338\" title=\"1.196+619-tw\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/1.196+619-tw-550x365.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/1.196+619-tw-550x365.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/1.196+619-tw-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/1.196+619-tw.jpg 1243w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-21338\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It\u2019s easy to forget but when Oporto 196 was loaned to Heaton Park it carried the legend Beamish Tramways and was in the Maroon and Cream colours instead of the brighter South Shields livery seen today.
