Several of the regular volunteers in Manchester will be supporting this event in order to provide an intensive four-tram service, which would leave insufficient staff to run trams at Heaton Park.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As most enthusiasts in this part of the country are likely to be visiting Birkenhead anyway, this seems a sensible move and it is also most pleasing to see one tramway helping another in this manner. The Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society have stated that this year&#8217;s Bus &amp; Tram Show could be the last ever, as the future of the Birkenhead tramway remains uncertain, and so hopefully the event will be well supported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Heaton Park Tramway in Manchester will not be operating this weekend, due to the annual Bus &amp; Tram Show being held at Birkenhead on Sunday 7th October.
