{"id":18365,"date":"2017-08-26T17:22:12","date_gmt":"2017-08-26T16:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=18365"},"modified":"2021-02-13T18:53:15","modified_gmt":"2021-02-13T18:53:15","slug":"picture-in-time-manchester-metrolink-1017-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=18365","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Manchester Metrolink 1017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We continue our Picture in Time series with a return visit to Manchester for a couple of views of T68 <strong>1017<\/strong> in the first year of the network \u2013 1992.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Having been built at Firema\u2019s Casertane Works <strong>1017<\/strong> was delivered to Manchester on 18th February 1992 and had to wait until 27th April of the same year before it entered service. The tram suffered two collisions during its career (the first with a bus in 2006 and the second in 2014 which led to its withdrawal from service) and also derailed in 1994 close to Collyhurst tunnel. Another claim to fame for <strong>1017<\/strong> was that it became the last T68 to call at Woodlands Road on 13th December 2013.
