The first tracks for the extension are due to be installed once a survey is undertaken with traffic management to be put in place from Bilston Street to Market Street for the duration of the work \u2013 it is expected that the work will take five months to complete.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The first work will necessitate the removal of the current track and its replacement, presumably with a junction installed at this juncture for the new line to diverge from the current route to Wolverhampton St George\u2019s. The decision has been taken to undertake this work at the same day as the closure on Bilston Road to try and minimise the obvious disruption.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic management \u2013 which will include some lane closures \u2013 will be introduced from Saturday 15th July from Bilston Street to Market Street.<\/p>\n<p>Alejandro Moreno, Midland Metro Alliance Director, said: \u201cWe recognise that no-one welcomes disruption, but these works represent an exciting forthcoming extension to the tramway in the region.
