Beside the Seaside, one of the most popular family events held at the Crich Tramway Village \u2013 home of the National Tramway Museum, will once again be taking place over the May Half Term holiday from Saturday 27th May to Sunday 4th June.<\/p>\n
Throughout the week the museum is transformed into a family themed seaside resort including a beach, deck chairs, buckets and spades. There will also be a fun fair featuring steam gallopers and Gavioli organ plus Punch and Judy and the chance to play a round of bingo.<\/p>\n
At certain times during the week there will also be face painting, a flea circus, magician, juggler and brass band playing.<\/p>\n
Of course the trams won\u2019t be left out with at least three trams expected to run on each day. Blackpool trams are expected to feature heavily to keep with the seaside theme and it is also hoped that provided the weather is kind other open top trams from the collection will also see use.<\/p>\n
This event may not be the kind to immediately excite the enthusiast but in order for our heritage tramways to survive in this age when there is so much to entice the family it is exactly the sort of event to attract visitors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
