{"id":16407,"date":"2017-01-19T20:12:25","date_gmt":"2017-01-19T20:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=16407"},"modified":"2017-01-21T10:07:04","modified_gmt":"2017-01-21T10:07:04","slug":"picture-in-time-bolton-66-and-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=16407","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Bolton 66 and friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although not a Blackpool tram today\u2019s Picture in Time star is a tram which is closely associated to Blackpool nowadays having been in the resort since 1981 \u2013 it is of course <strong>Bolton 66<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Bolton 66<\/strong> dates from 1901 running on its home tramway until the 1940s when it was withdrawn and as with so many other trams was sold on for further use. After rescue a lengthy restoration followed before <strong>66<\/strong> arrived in Blackpool in June 1981 for what was originally meant to be a short-term loan! But as history will tell us it has remained in Blackpool ever since becoming a very popular member of the heritage tram fleet.<\/p>\n<p>In these images we catch up with <strong>66<\/strong> just two months after its arrival on the Lancashire coast on 16th August 1981.
