{"id":15954,"date":"2016-12-08T18:11:08","date_gmt":"2016-12-08T18:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=15954"},"modified":"2016-12-08T18:11:08","modified_gmt":"2016-12-08T18:11:08","slug":"picture-in-time-blackpool-brush-295-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=15954","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Blackpool Brush 295"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Picture in Time today is back in Blackpool with our time machine stopping in 1967 for an image of <strong>Blackpool Brush 295<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>295<\/strong> was delivered to Blackpool at the end of August 1937 as one of the 20 strong class of Brush Railcoaches ordered to give more capacity on the tramway following the closure of the Lytham and St Annes Tramway. At the time that the photo was taken <strong>295<\/strong> retained its double indicator blinds and was still a year away from being renumbered as part of the major 1968 renumbering scheme. The tram is seen here waiting at Starr Gate and shows the livery of the time including orange trolley tower and simple half green\/half cream livery.<\/p>\n<p>In 1968 the tram became <strong>632<\/strong> and remained operating on the Blackpool Tramway until the end of the traditional tramway in 2011 (although by this stage ownership had transferred to the Lancastrian Transport Trust).
