{"id":15685,"date":"2016-11-04T21:40:41","date_gmt":"2016-11-04T20:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=15685"},"modified":"2016-11-04T21:40:41","modified_gmt":"2016-11-04T20:40:41","slug":"metrolink-boost-capacity-in-lead-up-to-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=15685","title":{"rendered":"Metrolink boost capacity in lead up to Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With just 50 days until Christmas and people apparently starting to think about their shopping for the festive period Manchester Metrolink are set to boost capacity on certain routes with more double trams operating from Monday 7th November until Friday 23rd December.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Double trams will run as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Altrincham to Piccadilly (every weekday)<\/p>\n<p>Bury to Etihad Campus (every weekday)<\/p>\n<p>East Didsbury to Shaw &amp; Crompton (every weekday between 0700 and 1900)<\/p>\n<p>Single trams will run:<\/p>\n<p>Altrincham to Bury (weekdays between 0700 and 1900)<\/p>\n<p>East Didsbury to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n<p>Rochdale Town Centre to Exchange Square<\/p>\n<p>There will no change to tram allocations on the Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne or Manchester Airport to Cornbrook services.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Andrew Fender, Chair of the TfGM Committee, said: \u201cThis is great news for both commuters and leisure travellers, particularly in the busy run up to Christmas. We constantly monitor demand to travel across the tram network, listen to feedback from our customers and look for improvements.
