With sunny skies overhead <strong>Marton Box 31<\/strong> \u2013 on loan from Beamish \u2013 was chosen to run alongside <strong>Railcoach 680<\/strong> \u2013 on loan from the Heaton Park Tramway.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Box 40<\/strong>, <strong>Bolton 66<\/strong> and <strong>680<\/strong> have all previously been in use on the Blue timetable but they have always run alongside a regular Blackpool resident making this day another historic one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>31<\/strong> has also become the first traditional open topper to run on a light rail system, by default becoming the oldest surviving Blackpool tram to work alongside the Flexities \u2013 it being a mere 115 to their three years of age!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14299\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=14299\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14299\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14299\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14299\" title=\"680+31-jw\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/680+31-jw-550x309.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/680+31-jw-550x309.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/680+31-jw-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/680+31-jw.jpg 1275w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14299\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">680 and 31 sit on Pleasure Beach loop during their historic day.
