Things started off fairly normally for 07 with it being delivered to Wednesbury on 4th August 1998 but not long after the system opened it was in the wars when it was involved in a collision with a lorry on Bilston Road. The tram had to be sent away from repairs and these were completed but upon its return it started to used as a source of spares with first its bogies and then other parts being used for its sister T69s. The tram was finally returned to service in 2008 after several other members of the fleet suffered accident damage and upon its return to service it was painted in the Magenta and Silver livery. 07 was withdrawn from service in September 2014 and didn’t hang around Wednesbury for long as it was moved for further storage at Long Marston on 16th October 2014.

This photo shows 07 approaching The Hawthorns on 29th January 2014 operating a Wolverhampton St George’s to Birmingham Snow Hill service.

Photograph by Tony Sullivan

It’s a more modern than usual Picture in Time for you today as our archive only goes back two years to January 2014 for a look at Midland Metro – but those two years have seen a major change in … Continue reading →

[35,18
