As with the previous two Saturdays the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> was in situ at North Pier with the man in the red coat ready to meet the children &#8211; before embarking on a single trip at the end of the day &#8211; whilst two trams operated a regular timetabled heritage service along the Prom with the chosen pair being <strong>Balloon 717<\/strong> and <strong>Twin Car 272+T2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->2015 started with an ambitious programme of heritage operations planned and very few would have thought it would have been successful as it has turned out to be, thanks in no small part to the dedicated volunteers who have helped to maintain the service.
