{"id":13372,"date":"2015-12-10T20:45:35","date_gmt":"2015-12-10T19:45:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=13372"},"modified":"2015-12-10T20:45:35","modified_gmt":"2015-12-10T19:45:35","slug":"120-re-enters-service-and-the-purple-route-is-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=13372","title":{"rendered":"120 re-enters service and the Purple route is back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The tram shortage being suffered on Stagecoach Supertram has abated slightly with the return of the \u201cnew\u201d <strong>120<\/strong> into service after the completion of repairs following the collision at Shalesmoor in October. The re-entry into service of <strong>120<\/strong> means that the Purple route has returned to use on weekdays although it is still only going to be running between Herdings Park and Cathedral for a while yet.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The \u201cnew\u201d <strong>120<\/strong> features two thirds of the \u201cold\u201d <strong>120<\/strong> (one end and the centre section) with the other end being from <strong>118<\/strong>, which was the other tram involved in the collision. <strong>120<\/strong> was cleared for a return to service after a series of successful test runs on Wednesday 9th December and as expected the whole tram is in the Sheffield Corporation Tramways commemorative livery.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>120<\/strong> back in the operating fleet the Purple route \u2013 which had only been abandoned during the day on Mondays-Saturdays at the start of this week \u2013 is back in operation.
