{"id":12437,"date":"2015-09-09T21:03:22","date_gmt":"2015-09-09T20:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=12437"},"modified":"2015-09-09T21:03:22","modified_gmt":"2015-09-09T20:03:22","slug":"in-pictures-urbos-3-35-enters-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=12437","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: Urbos 3 35 enters service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday 9th September saw the latest member of the Urbos 3 fleet to enter service on Midland Metro with <strong>35<\/strong> carrying its first fare paying passengers. This was the seventeenth different CAF built tram to enter service meaning that the class is now officially the largest single class of trams to operate on Midland Metro since opening (of course there were only 16 T69s in total).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>35<\/strong> had been undergoing the usual testing and commissioning process over recent weeks although when noted on its first day in service it still had less than 3000km on the clock (2777 to be precise) \u2013 a much lower figure than several of the other trams when they entered service.<\/p>\n<p>The entry into service of <strong>35<\/strong> is a bit of a surprise as recently the tram which has been seen out the most on test is <strong>34<\/strong> but this continues to be tested on an almost daily basis seemingly no closer to enter service.<\/p>\n<p>The 17 Urbos 3s which have been commissioned for service now are <strong>18<\/strong>, <strong>19<\/strong>, <strong>20<\/strong>, <strong>21<\/strong>, <strong>22<\/strong>, <strong>23<\/strong>, <strong>24<\/strong>, <strong>25<\/strong>, <strong>26<\/strong>, <strong>27<\/strong>, <strong>28<\/strong>, <strong>29<\/strong>, <strong>30<\/strong>, <strong>31<\/strong>, <strong>32<\/strong>, <strong>33<\/strong> and <strong>35<\/strong>. This still leaves four to enter service: <strong>17<\/strong>, <strong>34<\/strong>, <strong>36<\/strong> and <strong>37<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>And as we can\u2019t have an article from Midland Metro without mentioned the original trams, the withdrawn T69s still remain at Wednesbury Depot awaiting eventual movement to Long Marston.
