A 26 year old man has been arrested for drink driving after he drove his car onto the Metrolink tracks on the ramp outside the Manchester Central convention centre. The car was driven onto the tracks at around 2100 on Tuesday 24th March and was not removed until early the following morning.<\/p>\n
The car \u2013 a BMW \u2013 was so far onto the ramp that a crane had to be called to remove it and this meant that not only did no trams run between St Peter\u2019s Square and Cornbrook after 2100 on Tuesday 24th March but that the following morning also saw continued disruption. Points were also damaged in the incident which were repaired overnight.<\/p>\n
The man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was taken into custody for questioning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
