{"id":10288,"date":"2015-02-08T09:18:24","date_gmt":"2015-02-08T09:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=10288"},"modified":"2015-02-08T09:18:24","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T09:18:24","slug":"picture-in-time-manchester-metrolink-t68s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=10288","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Manchester Metrolink T68s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today our Picture in Time goes back to 1992 as we take a look at Queen\u2019s Road Depot on Manchester Metrolink \u2013 before the network had welcomed its first fare paying passengers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->This view shows at least nine T68s stabled at the depot on 23rd February 1992 with <strong>1014<\/strong> on its own on the left hand side. Also easily visible are <strong>1003<\/strong> and <strong>1001<\/strong> in the next row and <strong>1013<\/strong> behind <strong>1003<\/strong> on the far side. At this stage testing of the initial line was well underway (it was less than two months until the first sections opened to the public) but no-one knew whether the return of trams to the streets of the UK would be a success.
