{"id":10226,"date":"2015-02-03T20:14:57","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T20:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=10226"},"modified":"2015-02-03T20:14:57","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T20:14:57","slug":"scenic-t68s-manchester-metrolink-1022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=10226","title":{"rendered":"Scenic T68s: Manchester Metrolink 1022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>12 months ago today saw the final normal passenger runs of a Manchester Metrolink T68 when <strong>1007<\/strong>+<strong>1022<\/strong> (working as a double unit) failed on the Bury-Altrincham service halfway through the day. In the final part of our mini Scenic T68 series we feature a view of one of those vehicles to run on that last day: <strong>1022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><strong>1022<\/strong> arrived in Manchester on 5th March 1992 and was first used in passenger service on 27th April 1992. Over the following nearly 22 years it would be fair to say that the LRV didn\u2019t actually set the world alight with ground breaking events although it was used as for an interior layout trial in 1995, although evidently this was not deemed a success but its unique seats live on inside preserved <strong>1007<\/strong>. It may have run its last journeys on 3rd February but is official withdrawal did not take place for a further week.
