MANCHESTER METROLINK NEWS ROUND-UP
Manchester Metrolink – Tuesday 11th September 2007

1023 has returned to service in the revised livery following its mid-life refurbishment.

1001 has acquired the small fleet numbers on the end dash panels below the driver’s window at the end of August.

1002, 1007, 1011, 1012, 1022 and 2006 have all lost their names.

1018 has received Cooperative Food names and has also been fitted with window adverts for a new Co-op food store near to Victoria station.

Two further trams had Never Forget - the now closed Take That musical – window advertisements fitted towards the end of August – these being 1001 and 1007.

On the re-opening of the Altrincham line on 28th August the Manchester Evening News ran a full front page picture of 1017 as part of their report of the opening. The replacement bus service remained operating until mid morning on this first day for those few passengers who were unaware of the re-opening.

As mentioned above 1001 received the small fleet numbers on the end dash panels at the end of August. The tram is seen here heading for the city centre at G-Mex on 5th September 2007 - note also the Never Forget window adverts.
