DLR SUFFERS WITH TRACK AND SIGNALLING UPGRADES The Docklands Light Railway was hit by delays on both Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th September due to overrunning weekend “upgrade” works and problems with the new signalling equipment.
On Monday the complex weekend upgrade work took longer to complete than planned and this created problems across the network. No trains were able to operate between Bank and Canary Wharf and Poplar and Canary Wharf throughout the day.
More problems were encountered on Tuesday when the latest signalling system upgrade had problems, again causing delays to journeys.
As a result of these problems a revised service was put into operation from Bank from Wednesday 1st October. In peak periods are only running every 3.5 minutes (instead of the normal 2.5) with off peak trains every 10 minutes (rather than every 5). As soon as the problems are sorted the normal service will be resumed.

| British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email. |
