ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TRAM & BUS DAY AT BIRKENHEAD!
Birkenhead Tramway – Sunday 14th October 2007
The annual Tram and Bus Day took place at the Birkenhead Tramway on Sunday 7th October. A four tram service was offered with Birkenhead 20, Wallasey 78, Lisbon 730 and Liverpool 762 in use throughout the day. The highlight of the day for many though was the first appearance outside Wales of the replica Llandudno & Colwyn Bay 7, displayed throughout the day at Old Colonial terminus.
The undoubted star of the show was the replica Llandudno & Colwyn Bay 7 - making its first public appearance outside of Wales. The tram is seen here on its trailer which was used to transport it to Birkenhead - with a top speed of 30mph the Society made a start at 0400 to get there in time!
