The latest edition of the Tramlines newsletter has been released on the Midland Metro website. Read on to read about celebrations for Midland Metro following the Light Rail awards and a forthcoming customer survey.
* Midland Metro were celebrating at the Light Rail Awards following their commendation in the Best Customer Initiative category. The commendation was in effect a runner-up award and was given for the introduction of earlier morning services from March 2008.
Fred Roberts, Manager of Midland Metro, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated for our early morning services. We introduced the extended timetable to cater for customers working early morning and late night shifts. It benefits customers connecting to early morning coaches and trains in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. The early morning service has proved popular with customers and patronage continues to grow. Thanks to the earlier timetable the Metro is now carrying an extra 1,400 passengers per week.”
* In other Midland Metro news a customer satisfaction survey is to take place during November for passengers to help shape the future of the network. Researchers are due to be distributing the surveys on trams and at stops and the forms should take around 20 minutes to complete. All completed surveys will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed England football shirt or cash prizes of £300, £150 or £50. The questionnaire can also be filled in online – but only if you have a code which will be printed on the copies being handed out.
