The £253,000 discount would be applied because originally the firm were to develop residential apartments and the levy would have been at the lower level.

Other repaints have seen Centenary 641 be repainted all over orange following the removal of its Orion Bingo advertising vinyls whilst not previously reported on these pages was the repaint of Balloon 720 all over white as its major overhaul continues.

STILL NO BIKES FOR METROLINK AFTER GMITA REVIEW
Manchester Metrolink – Sunday 7th February 2010
Following an in-depth review by the GMITA it has been decided that the by-law which prohibits the carriage of bicycles on board Metrolink should stand. The review concluded that having bikes on trains would lead to increased risk of injury to passengers from sharp points such as handlebars and pedals. There would also be the potential for injury when bikes are taken on and off the tram and also when the trams have to make emergency stops in the city centre section there is the risk of people falling onto or against bicyles. A copy of the report can be read here.
