Major recruitment drive for Edinburgh Trams Customer Service roles

Edinburgh Trams have launched a major new recruitment campaign to appoint Customer Service and Ticketing Assistants on both the current line from the Airport to city centre as well as the extension to Newhaven when that opens in 2023.

Customer Services and Ticketing Assistants are the face of Edinburgh Trams and the recruitment process sees the completion of an online application form followed by an online competency-based interview. Successful applicants receive in depth training on how to work on the trams while engaging in customers in new exciting ways.

Sue Bucher, Edinburgh Trams’ HR Manager, said: “We are now also advertising this role on a part-time basis which offers a great deal of flexibility to those with other commitments. New starts will benefit from a competitive salary, 33 days annual leave, overtime available with Bank Holiday rates, Contributory Company Pension Scheme, Life Cover, HSF Health Plan, and a Cycle to Work Scheme. Our most popular benefits are a free ridacard for the employee plus a discounted ridacard for someone else in the employee’s household.”

The role also allows opportunities for career progression with 53% of current employees having had an internal promotion since they started.

The recruitment drive will be extended in the coming months to also include tram drivers and engineers as they look ahead to the extension opening.
