Lockdown Walks: Edinburgh Trams 261

In this edition of “Lockdown Walks” we are again heading north of the border to the only new tramway in Scotland.

With the continuing Covid situation across the British Isles passenger numbers on all tramway systems continue to be very low with the “Stay At Home” message very much still key in order to try and limit the spread as we al wait for the golden vaccination ticket. When the below photo was taken there were just three people waiting for the tram on the platform – at one of the more popular stops on the network at Haymarket – with a further handful already on board. A far cry from 12 months earlier.

261 is seen here just calling at Haymarket bound for the Airport. The tram retains its masks on each end and is advert free. Typical February weather of rain and grey skies met the photographer as he captured the image. Roseberry House is to the left and Citypoint straight ahead.
