MIDLAND METRO NEWS ROUND-UP
Midland Metro – Sunday 18th May 2008

The latest two editions (March and April) of Tramlines magazine have finally been uploaded to the official Midland Metro website. Read on if you want to find out the latest news from Midland Metro including the latest performance figures.

* The performance figures for February were up to 98.41% (this is the figure of trams operating in accordance with the timetable). This was despite several incidents of smashed tram windscreens and saloon windows on account of stone throwing from local youths and on 23rd February a speeding car collided with a tram at Bilston Road causing several hours disruption. This was followed with near identical performance in March of 98.4%.

* The work at West Bromwich Central to widen the Birmingham bound platform has been completed. This should alleviate any overcrowding problems during peak periods. The work to improve access at The Hawthorns has been delayed after the discovery of a high voltage electricity cable which has to be diverted before further work can take place.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
