NEW LRVS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN ALTRINCHAM
Manchester Metrolink – Sunday 14th March 2010

The new M5000 LRVs for Metrolink were officially launched in Altrincham this week, with a four year old boy asked to do the “official welcoming”. Ned Banks is an avid fan of Metrolink and was delighted to greet the new generation of trams at Altrincham.

Philip Purdy, GMPTE Metrolink Director, said: “We are delighted to have Ned Banks officially welcome the new tram to Altrincham. He has been named Metrolink’s number one tram fan for his enthusiasm for the network and we look forward to seeing him travelling on the new trams in the near future. Educating children and young people on the positive benefits of the Metrolink to local communities and the environment is an important task for GMPTE. Ned’s passion for the tram network is excellent to see as he and his peers are our future tram travellers.”

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
