FIRST EDINBURGH TRAMS START TESTING IN GERMANY
Edinburgh Trams – Sunday 7th March 2010

Another momentous event has happened in the Edinburgh Trams Project with two trams (including 252) being moved to the Siemens test track at Wildenrath in Germany, for extensive testing before they start to move to the Scottish capital from early April 2010.

Marshall Poulton, Head of Transport at the City of Edinburgh Council, said: “"It's great to finally see the trams up close and I think CAF have done a tremendous job. I'm looking forward to seeing this tram running on the streets of Edinburgh."

A video report on the trams and images of them being tested is available on the official Edinburgh Trams website, link below.

* Interestingly this news was buried within another story on the Edinburgh Evening News website bemoaning the fact that residents and businesses would have to ask permission before erecting scaffolding etc in front of their properties to wash windows or paint.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
