REGULAR BLACKPOOL TRAM TOURS TO BE RUN IN 2010
Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway – Sunday 21st March 2010

Trams Magazine have announced that they are to organise a series of tram tours throughout 2010, as an additional attraction for the events year. Tours will take place from July until the end of October. The tours will give enthusiasts, visitors and locals a rare opportunity to ride on a vintage or illuminated Blackpool tram on days they don’t normally operate and to travel over part of the route not normally used by them.

Two tours will be run during 2010; The Coastal Tour (every Sunday from 4th July to 31st October) and The Evening Tramway Cruise (Wednesdays between 7th July and 26th August).

The Coastal Tour will operate a loop to loop journey, covering the whole promenade and seafront. Departing at 1400 from North Pier, the tram will run to Little Bispham, then Pleasure Beach and back to North Pier for approximately 1515. Western Train 733+734 has been requested for these tours – a rare daylight outing for these trams.

The Evening Tramway Cruise will operate an out and back journey, covering the northern end of the tramway, through Cleveleys and Fleetwood. Departing at 1900 from North Pier, the tram will run to Fisherman’s Walk (Ash Street), then a short break and back to North Pier for approximately 2100. Standard 147 has been requested for these tours. If the weather is fine it might be possible for Open Top Balloon 706 or Boat 600 to be used. These trams don’t normally run on summer evenings and rarely get to Fleetwood.

Tickets for both tours are priced at £6 for adults, £5 for Senior Citizens and £4 for Children. Further details and how to book are available on the Trams Magazine website - here.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
