NO EXTRA SIGNAGE TO PREVENT CARS DRIVING ONTO TRAM-ONLY VIADUCT The tram only viaduct linking the terminus at Station Street with the stop at Lace Market has seen four further motorists drive on to it in eight weeks between November and January – but officials at Nottingham City Council have decided that the current signage is ample and no further action needs to be taken to help motorists not drive on to it.
Pat Armstrong, NET Director, said: “This [the city council’s accident investigation unit investigation] concluded that the control measures that are in place at present are more than adequate to alert the majority of road users that there is no entry for road traffic other than trams on to the viaduct."
Included in the latest incidents were three within 10 days and excuses used included following a tram, not looking at the signs and following satnav instructions.

| British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email. |
