L53 TO VISIT BEAMISH & OTHER HEATON PARK EVENTS 2009
Heaton Park Tramway – Sunday 22nd March 2009

The Heaton Park Tramway have released their special events for 2009, the highlight of which involves one of their trams visiting the North of England Open Air Museum at Beamish. The tram visiting is celebrity Manchester Eades Reversible Horse Tram L53 and it will be operating at Beamish on 28th and 29th May. Other events will take place at Heaton Park in June, July, August and November, read on for further details.

Planned Heaton Park Tramway Events 2009

28th & 29th May: L53 operating at Beamish

14th June: Manchester Trams 60 years since closure celebration. L53 operating.

12th July: ‘Transport in Art’ exhibition. Artists in attendance, displays and sales. L53 operating.

8th–16th August: MOSI Transport week. L53 on display at MOSI (provisional). Trams running every day 1000-1700. Vintage transport connection to MOSI (to be confirmed)

6th September: Trans Lancs Rally. Model Tram exhibition.

8th November: Leeds 50 years since closure. 6 operating in service with bow collector. ‘Tram replacement’ bus service with restored Leeds buses. Leeds Trams models competition.
