HORSE TRAM TO LAUNCH AT HEATON PARK
Heaton Park Tramway – Sunday 2nd March 2008

On Sunday 30th March at the Heaton Park Tramway a major achievement will be celebrated with the official launch of Eades Reversible Horse Tram L53, with a special first tram ride being offered with special tickets on sale.

The long awaited launch of Eades Reversible Horse tram L53 will take place this spring. This marks the first Eades Tram in service for over 100 years, the first Double deck British Horse tram in public service on the mainland since the Morecambe Trams finished and the first double decker to operate on the reopened Tramway.

The official press launch takes place on Thursday 27th March and the public launch will take place at approximately 2.30 pm on Sunday 30th March. The tram will be launched into service by a very special guest and then run trips for the afternoon. Special first trip tickets are on sale at £15 for a guaranteed upper deck seat and £10 inside. These are limited so please email John Whitehouse, Commercial Manager at j.d.whitehouse2@tesco.net or telephone 01282 436802/07840 707653 for ticket sales.

And here is surely the star of this spring - Eades Reversible Horse tram L53. After a long restoration the tram is finally ready to re-enter service and will do so on Sunday 30th March.
