DON’T’ MISS IT! TOTALLY TRANSPORT 2009
Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway – Sunday 21st June 2009

The Lancastrian Transport Trust organised Totally Transport will take place on New South Promenade, Blackpool next Sunday (28th June). The event promises to be exciting with the Western Train 733+734 operating two special tours and a vintage tram service running through to Starr Gate – including a very rare appearance from Sheffield 513!

Probably the highlight for many a tram enthusiast will be the appearance of Western Train 733+734. This will operate two special tours from Harrowside at 1215 and 1345, running to Little Bispham and Starr Gate. Each tour is expected to last approximately 90 minutes and it will cost the standard illumination tour price (£4.60 for adults and £3.40 for children and seniors). Travelcards, Zonecards and National Concessionary passes will not be valid on either tour. Full details on this tour are available here.

As is traditional a vintage tram service will be operated throughout the event by Blackpool Transport between Starr Gate and Tower or North Pier. Trams will operate about every 10 minutes and normal fares apply, including Travelcards. One tram which should be operating is Sheffield 513, which is believed to be operating in public service for first time since 2005. It is planned that the following trams (subject to availability and weather) will operate on this service:
* Blackpool Standard 147
* Blackpool Coronation 304
* Blackpool Replica Vanguard 619
* Blackpool Boat Car
* Bolton 66
* Sheffield 513
Details on these trams are available here.

In addition to these tram related events the following is planned for Totally Transport:
* Classic Cars, Buses, Coaches and Commercial Vehicles on display on New South Promenade from Starr Gate to Pleasure Beach South
* 150 classic Minis on charity road run to the event and displayed at South Pier Headland (from 1230)
* Enthusiast Trade Stalls at rear of Solaris
* Tramway models, displays about LTT, Western Train Project, Blackpool Civic Trust and local transport groups inside Solaris
* Entertainment at front of Solaris
* Miniature Railway in operate at Solaris (charge applies)
* Seafront 12: Vintage Bus Service Pleasure Beach to Lytham Square via St Annes and Fairhaven Lake every 20 minutes operated by Classic Bus North West

Totally Transport will take place on New South Promenade between 1100 and 1600 on Sunday 28th June and full details can be found on the website here.

* British Trams Online will have comprehensive coverage from the event in mid-July.
