METROLINK CITY CENTRE TRACKWORK UPDATE The trackwork in the City Centre has been continuing over the past few weeks and in addition tram services being operated have also been amended mainly due to technical problems.
The Victoria to Bury service is now being mainly operated by single trams owing to continuing technical problems. The basic service is every 12 minutes, but the frequency is increased to every 7 minutes on Monday to Friday peaks from 0700 to 1000 and 1600 to 1900 and on Saturdays between 1000 to 1700. A double tram is used on the 0830 Bury-Victoria service on weekdays.
After the first eight weeks of the city centre trackwork, the following progress had been noted:

The approach to Victoria station has now been finished into the road surface, but note the temporary tarmac for the footpath over the rails.
