METROLINK NEWS ROUND-UP
Manchester Metrolink – Sunday 25th January 2009

A brief news round-up (including photo) from the Manchester Metrolink system with news of delays on the system and more on the refurb of 1007.

Services on the Bury line were delayed on the evening of Wednesday 21st January because of an earlier failed vehicle. There was at least a gap of 30 minutes on the Bury line during the evening peak.

As previously reported 1007 has returned to service after a period of attention under “Metrolink Special Projects”. As well as external modifications, the interior passenger information displays of next stop have been removed and the video display screens for advertising have also been removed. The non-standard high-back seating is still installed on the tram however.

1007 is shown here at Radcliffe station on Tuesday 20th January 2009. Note the couplers now hidden by a grey panel.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
