HORSE TRAMS OPERATING TIMES TO CHANGE FOR 2009
Douglas Horse Tramway – Sunday 18th January 2009

Douglas Council have agreed to change the operating times of the Horse Tramway in 2009 – provided the appropriate changes can be made to permanent staff contracts. It is proposed that the trams will now operate between 1100 and 2000 throughout the operating season.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the leisure services committee of Douglas Council but was not taken lightly. The fear is that the later operating times may lead to higher costs because permanent members of staff are only contracted to work until 1630 – and so overtime payments would be necessary for the later journeys.

Horse trams will operate in Douglas between 18th May and 12th September in 2009 and providing the changes can be made to the staff contracts will run between 1100 and 2000 throughout.

British Trams Online is an enthusiast run website for enthusiasts. It should be able to be viewed at all screen resolutions but I do advise you that it is probably best at 1024x768. The site is owned, maintained (and in the main written) by Gareth Prior. Any comments or suggestions please email.
