The major trackwork being undertaken in Blackpool has been continuing over the last seven days with progress being noted at all of the worksites.
Pleasure Beach:
Most of the track has now been laid between the south end of the loop and the Sandcastle, although some of the sections remain. At the loop itself track is now laid from the main line to the inner loop points. The track has been removed from the slope at South Pier to allow for the levelling of the trackbed to the same height as the rest.
Manchester Square-Central Pier:
Some track is now in place and a lot of machinery is located around and about.
Gynn Square-Norbreck:
Track welding is continuing on the section between the Cliffs Hotel and Cabin and a concrete base has now been put into place at the Cabin stop for around two track lengths. More track clearing has been taking place at Bispham with the trackbed now virtually clear between the station and Haddon Road. A stock of new sleepers and rails is now stored at Norbreck.
Little Bispham:
The loop point and diamond on the northbound line is now in place.
