Seaton End of Season Gala October 2007
Making its British Trams Online debut is the unique Seaton Tramway - which runs at a gauge of 2'9". All these photos were taken on Day One of the two day 2007 End of Season Gala on 27th October 2007 when most trams - including the works car - make appearances with an extensive service operated as well as behind the scenes tours of the depot. This enabled views of current overhaul tram number 7 as well as those trams not in use on the day and also out the back of the depot a possible Seaton 15 - an unrestored Bournemouth 101. Somehow I only managed to get one shot of 17 all day, as seen here at Colyton. This tram is based upon a Manx Electric Railway toastrack and was built from scratch in 1992. It has removable seats which allow wheelchairs to be carried.
Out of service undergoing attention to its truck was 19 - which is another "real" tram. This started off life as Exeter 19 and like the ex-Bournemouth car was a 3'6" open topper. It was obtained by Seaton in 1992 before being rebuilt to single deck 2'9" gauge in 1998. 19 is seen in the depot and really is at that angle (I know some of my photos do have the habit of being at an angle but never this bad!)
