Birkenhead Tram & Bus Day 2007
The annual Tram and Bus Day at the Birkenhead Tramway took place on Sunday 7th October 2007. As well as a four tram service (in the hands of Birkenhead 20, Wallasey 78, Lisbon 730 and Liverpool 762) it marked the first apperance of replica Llandudno & Colwyn Bay 7 outside Wales - with the tram starting its journey from North Wales at 0400 to ensure it got there in time. On the next eight pages are 24 photos from three photographers - John Bird (from the Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Tramway Society) and regular British Trams Online contributors Steve McCulley and Tony Waddington. So just sit back, relax and enjoy these photos! (As ever you can access the photos by using the links at either the top or bottom of the page)

69's sister from Hong Kong, car 70, has received a more traditional Birkenhead livery and was on display in the depot. Notice the trade stalls surrounding the car, and Liverpool 'Baby Grand' 245 behind 70. This vehicle has been partially stripped and is now awaiting restoration.

On an upper level of Taylor Street depot, visitors will find Liverpool horse car 43 tucked away in a corner. This past visitor to Crich requires attention to its wheelsets and axles in order to be declared fit to run, and is presently a static exhibit.

A star guest at the special event was Llandudno 7 - a replica built using some parts of an old Bournemouth tram, which has been mounted on a road trailer. The car was displayed outside the main depot on this, its first ever appearance outside Wales.
