Vintage Trams
2006 has not really been a good news for the so-called "vintage" trams in Blackpool. With the track in a bad condition south of Manchester Square they have been semi banned from this stretch with Standard 147 even temporaily withdrawn from service because of this. In this years "Week in Blackpool" Blackpool & Fleetwood Box 40 didn't make an appearance (again! - I haven't been able to catch this tram for several years in service now) whilst Coronation 660 only made Illumination Tour appearances on the first Saturday (2 September 2006). Stockport 5 and Sheffield 513 remain sidelined through "mothballing".

Coronation 660 is seen approaching Bispham working an Illumination Tour on 2 September 2006.
Bolton 66 managed to get out and work some specials on 8 September 2006. In this view the tram is heading south at Foxhall Square.
A second view of 66 on the same day at Tower, this time heading north.
