Gallery 502: When Balloon 711 & Box 40 went on their holidays!

2014 was another year of tram loans with two high profile loans being made by trams from Blackpool heading to the Derbyshire countryside: Blackpool Balloon 711 and Blackpool & Fleetwood Box 40. The Balloon car was the first to make the trip arriving at the start of April before it entered service towards the end of May. This was soon followed by 40 which after one day of operation in Blackpool arrived at Crich on 21st July. Both trams proved to be popular temporary additions to teh Crich fleet for 2014 and in the end they operated up until October and finally left together on 29th October to return to their home tramway. This collection shows the two trams both in action and being prepared for their return trip.

Photographs in this collection were taken by Crich Tramway Village, Paul Derrick, Gareth Prior, Hazel Quarmby & Andrew Waddington.
